A MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENT

A MILESTONE in the history of the Presentation Convent Schools in South India Province.

The 20th of June 2024 welcomed the launching of the new ICSE Board of Education [Indian Certificate for Secondary Education]. The Church Park ICSE School was inaugurated amidst great jubilation and joy.

The celebration began with the inaugural address by our Principal, Sr. Prabha highlighting the significance of the day followed by lighting the traditional lamp, prayer and a solemn reflection on God’s guiding light over the years.

The songs, dances and the tableau sought God’s blessings on this new venture that promised innovation, academic excellence, strong ethical values and environment – conscious learning.

Sr. Fatima Rodrigo, the leader of the South India Province of the PBVM family graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Sr. Leela, Superior and Correspondent, Sr. Prabha, Principal and the Sisters of the Presentation Communities in Chennai. The other dignitaries were the Heads of Institutions, Mr. Nandakumar V – the consultant, Mr. Kannan, the Engineer, Mr. Henry Raj Kannan, the Architect (Angel Builders), Dr. Vidyaa Hari Iyer – President of SHAA(Sacred Heart Alumni Association), Mr. Senthil Kumar, President of the Sacred Heart Parent-Teachers’ Association and Mr. Gerald Arun Dass – a PTA representative.

Rev. Fr. Swami Nathan, Parish Priest of Presentation Church, Royapettah blessed the new school building. The ribbon was cut by Sr. Fatima Rodrigo and coloured balloons were released in the air to bring joy and happiness on this momentous occasion. The school band proudly played ‘Shine Jesus Shine’ while the choir sang – ‘On Our School your blessings Lord’.

Sr. Fatima Rodrigo addressed the gathering by offering her kind words of appreciation and blessings for the new exciting and challenging endeavour.

Mrs. Binny Mathew delivered the Vote of Thanks and the joyous morning ended with the School Song and National Anthem.
